Get Fit in February

For everyone reading this article, take a moment and ask
yourself, do you feel that you could improve your level of
physical fitness?
As we progress through our twenties without gym class, and
school sports or intramural activities, many former athletes as
well as couch potatoes physically reach retirement of the body.
It gets to the point where given the opportunity to participate
in what should be a fun activity, from skiing to playing adult
league volleyball, people often back away for fear of
embarrassment or even worse, injury! So how can you reverse this
trend and get to the point where you feel strong enough and
energetic enough to participate in activities other than channel
surfing on your TV?
You don’t need an expensive gym membership or one of a million
exercise machines you’ve seen on television. You need guidance
and motivation. Training at home is effective and time
conscious. With basic weight training techniques one can regain
the strength and flexibility needed to not only look better, but
also to feel like you are capable of participating in all of the
potential activities that wait.
With the average person, sleeping 6-8 hours, sitting in a car or
train for 2 hours, sitting at a desk for 8 hours, and eating and
watching TV for 4 hours. One can see how our minds may be
working overtime, however, our bodies haven’t even woken up yet.
People wonder why we feel tired all the time, or why we
experience back pain or low energy.
Try this in the morning and kick-start your metabolism to give
you some early morning energy. Before showering try, 50 step
lunges, 50 calf-raises, 20 push-ups, 30 sit-ups and touch your
toes 20 times. If repeated everyday, you will feel the
difference within two weeks.
Looks are not everything, but everyone wants to look good!
Whether you are going down south for a week’s vacation or
counting down the days until your friend’s wedding, weight
training is the fastest most efficient way to tone up those arms
or slim down your thighs. Basic movements such as standing
squats are a great start; they will help with your range of
motion while strengthening your legs and abdominals, also
relieving pressure from your lower back. Push-ups are a great
way to start toning your upper body. These are good for all
levels of fitness and all ages. Correct form is essential!
Improper training techniques can lead to injuries, thus
deterring you from seeing progress.
With increased strength and conditioning you will find your
confidence growing, energy levels increasing, old aches and
pains disappearing. An in-home trainer from Pinnacle Fitness
will provide you with the knowledge and motivation to help you
get to where you want to be. Everyone wants to be in shape, but
knowing how to get there safely and efficiently is essential.
This is a great way for anyone at any age or fitness level to
look and feel better, letting you participate in all those
activities you have been avoiding.
