Homeopathy, a natural medicine that
can be safely integrated
by Homeopathic Doctor Keren Tamir, HD, DHMHS
In today’s world people are trying to find an alternative, natural
medicine to treat their ailments. To find a treatment that is
suitable, or a compatible doctor sometimes can be difficult.
What many individuals don’t realize is that finding a natural
medicine does not always mean that they are required to
discontinue their conventional medical treatment. Therefore, it
will either stop them from pursuing a certain modality or they
might stop conventional treatment, which sometimes can be
detrimental to their health. What people have to understand is
that some natural medicines are not alternatives but can be
integrated along with conventional medicine and other natural
modalities.
This article will focus on Homeopathy, a natural medicine that can
be safely integrated with other medicines such as, Acupuncture,
Chiropractic Chinese medicine and conventional medicine. Most
patients who come to the homeopathic office are usually on some
type of medical drug treatment and are very leery of coming off
any medications. Some individuals don’t know they have the
possibility of receiving homeopathic treatment and fear it will
interfere with the medications they are taking.
After reading this article, both these types of individuals might
be more confident and comfortable to seek homeopathic treatment.
Not all natural medicines (herbs and minerals) safely interact
with conventional medicines and most of them have small
contraindications in the body. With homeopathic medicine one can
safely receive a gentle treatment to most ailments.
In order for a person to choose Homeopathy as a complementary
treatment one must first describe what Homeopathy is. Homeopathy
is a system of natural medicine that treats the body as a whole
and it is considered a holistic form of medicine. When
you treat homeopathically you give medicines that stimulate the
body’s own innate ability to heal itself. When our immune system
is not strong enough to heal, Homeopathy can work as a catalyst
to help the body recover from disease. Homeopathy can treat both
acute and chronic illness and it has no contraindications with
other medicines (herbal, vitamins or conventional). Homeopathic
remedies act gently on the body and can treat an array of
different ailments. Finding a remedy that encompasses the
totality of the individual’s symptoms on all mental, emotional
and physical levels does this. Thus, the remedy is
individualized specifically for the person, emphasizing the fact
that although two people suffer from the same ailment, (as an
example a headache), they might receive different remedies
because their lifestyle is fundamentally different and although
their physical symptoms might be similar, they might express
themselves differently in the emotional and mental level.
Although Homeopathy can help with many ailments, below is a list of
some of the chronic and acute conditions, which may be treated
with Homeopathy even if the person is taking any other type of
medication.
Some of the chronic conditions Homeopathy can treat include:
-
Chronic Fatigue Symptom
-
Arthritis and Fibromyalgia
-
Digestive disorders
-
Allergies
-
Skin disorders such as Acne or Eczema, etc.
Homeopathy may also treat acute colds and flus, injuries, ear or
throat infections, etc.
Some of the women’s conditions that Homeopathy may help with may
include:
-
Hot flushes in Menopause
-
PMS
-
Endometriosis
-
Hormonal imbalances, etc.
Furthermore, Homeopathy may treat anxiety, fears, insomnia,
anorexia and depression, which are becoming more common in this
day and age.
