Healing the Animals with Dowsing
Written by Lynn McKenzie

Dowsing is a fabulous way to interact with, help and heal our animal companions. This may be a new concept for you, but each of us can have access to all of the answers that we will ever need regarding our animals through dowsing.

There are a number of ways to dowse, the most popular is using a pendulum and asking ‘yes/no’ questions which tap into the collective consciousness or the ‘all knowing’ universe that each of us has access to. The pendulum is just a tool that shows us our body’s neuromuscular reaction to the answer to the question we have asked. It may sound very simple but a practiced dowser knows that the accuracy of the answers received while dowsing are in direct proportion to how balanced, centered, hydrated and grounded we are. Experience and practice also make for more trustable answers. Personally I have an elaborate routine that I go through to make sure that I am clear, fully integrated and balanced before starting my sessions.

The sky is the limit as far as what we can do for the animals with dowsing but for the purposes of this article, I’m going to explain some common and practical applications we can use.

Diet and nutritional needs

Dowsing can be very helpful in helping us to determine what foods, water, flower essences and supplements will be beneficial for our animal companions. We cannot only determine which items to give but also how frequently and for how long. If our animals require medications we can use dowsing to determine if the medications will be beneficial for them. We can also use dowsing to perform special blessings on the items that we are feeding/giving them to enhance their nutritive and healing qualities.

Surgery and vaccine decisions

We can dowse to determine if it is in our animals ‘highest and best’ good to have a particular surgery or vaccination. If so, we can then dowse to determine the best time frame for the procedure and to provide healing after the fact. We can even use dowsing to help to clear any damage or toxicity that may occur as a result of a surgery or vaccination.

Finding lost animals

We can use map dowsing to pinpoint the location of lost or missing animals. We can also do this to locate animals hiding within the home. Asking ‘yes/no’ questions can help us determine if lost animals want to return, have access to food and people or if they are trapped.

Body Scans

Dowsing can be used as a way to check out various body systems, organs and chakras to determine any imbalances and blockages, which may be causing symptoms that are presenting. This can often assist our Veterinarians in a diagnosis.

Euthanasia decisions

Dowsing can be a useful tool in helping us to determine if our animal companions would like assistance in crossing over. If they do, we can use dowsing to help us determine when the time is right for them and whether they would like to be at home or at the Vet’s office. It can also be useful in determining their final wishes.

Practitioner selection

We can use dowsing to select groomers, trainers, healers, blacksmiths and Veterinarians.

Training and activity selection

Just as many of us would rather not take up ballet, our horses may not want to train in dressage, especially if they are more suited to barrel racing! Our dogs may also not be at all interested in flyball just because we are. Dowsing can help us select the activities we pursue with our animal companions or even select an animal companion that is game for the particular activity that we have in mind.

Adding a new animal to the family

Dowsing can be a fabulous way to determine if your animal family will be ok with adding a new member. You can get into details here and determine the species, breed and sex that would be most accepted by your clan. You can also do some dowsing to ease the integration process.

Creating sacred space and clearing detrimental energies

We can determine if there are any noxious or non-beneficial energies affecting the areas where our animal companions reside. If so, we can then use dowsing to clear or neutralize them. We can also use it to feng shui our environments to keep our feline friends happy and purring!

Our beloved animal companions give so much to us that it should be our honour to help them to be comfortable and heal in any way we can. Dowsing is a wonderful way to give them a voice and a choice in our decision making process.

Lynn’s recommended Guidelines for Dowsing

  • Always ask the animal’s higher self permission before a dowsing or healing session
  • Make sure that you are grounded, centered, focused, hydrated and integrated before you start
  • Word your questions carefully, and frame them in a ‘yes/no’ format (the better the questions, the better the results that you will get)
  • Be unattached to the outcome (focusing more on the question than the answer can help)
  • Practice is an important part of success with dowsing, so flex your dowsing muscle by using dowsing on yourself and your animal companions daily
  • Protect yourself from taking on any unwanted energies during dowsing

Please note: dowsing is never a substitute for good Veterinary care
