10 Ways to Stay Active with Your Kids

  1. Bike ride together-into a local park.


  2. Make a jog into a family activity. Go to the local track with the kids one parents plays with them while the other runs and then swap.


  3. Walk the kids to school in the morning as well as when picking them up in the evening.


  4. Teach your child all the fun games you played when you were a kid; hide and seek, tag, skipping, road hockey and then play with them!


  5. Children are always interested in learning new skill, join activities with them; karate, swimming or even learn to juggle together.


  6. Throw a baseball, football, frisbee and talk with your child.


  7. Walk the dog together!!!!


  8. Instead of desert every night have fruit and one night a week walk to the store/restaurant for an after dinner “treat”.


  9. Install a basketball hoop at your home or go to a public court and play with your child.


  10. Purchase small rakes and rake leaves with your children, make big piles and run and jump into leaves.  (This can also be done in the winter with snow or in the summer time how about giving the child a section of the garden to work on?)
