Padma has been named an ambassador for retailer Lululemon
Athletica’s flagship store in Vancouver, B.C. Padma’s daily series, Living Yoga with Padma, airs nationally on One. The half-hour program is a gentle guide to the practice of yoga. Padma introduces viewers to the wide variety of yoga techniques, and reveals how this ancient art can help to cultivate physical, mental and spiritual wellness. As an ambassador for Lululemon’s Vancouver flagship outlet, Padma teaches meditation to staff and guests. The store is located in the popular Kitsilano neighbourhood, at 2113 West 4th Avenue. Padma (née Marla Stewart) has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years, and is today one of Canada’s best known and most respected teachers of meditation and yoga. She devoted eight years to full-time study in India, mastering the original Sanskrit texts of meditation and yoga philosophy. In Vancouver, she founded the Padma Yoga and Meditation Centre, and now educates Canadian yoga teachers, physicians and corporate clients in the yogic arts. In addition to developing, writing and hosting Living Yoga with Padma, she has produced a best-selling series of yoga DVDs. Padma also guides weekly yoga and meditation classes for the staff of CBC Radio 3 in Vancouver, and has plans to release a new CD of guided meditations and Sanskrit chants.
